Running the Bar
Even though I have worked in a busy city centre bar in Budapest before, I have found working in the Dome Restaurant bar very stressful and challenging. This is probably due to my lack of knowledge about British drinks. I did manage to learn about wines and British soft drink, however I still feel insecure when serving wine by the tables.
Running the bar is definitely an area I still need to improve. Working in the Dome Restaurant bar made me realise how different a bar in a pub and in a fine dining restaurant is. In the future I plan to widen my knowledge about drinks by undertaking a basic sommelier training and at Gleneagles I am hoping to take part in a course about spirits as well.
