Silver Service / Table Service

Silver service and table side service are probably my favourite types of services since they are very personalised and spectacular and therefore can make a significant difference. At the Dome Restaurant I had the opportunity to practise the silver service of bread and vegetables and in the second semester I tried flambéing as well.


With a lot of practise I believe I managed to learn and perform these services without an issue. However, there are various different dishes that can be prepared by the tables which we have not practised at the Dome.

While working in the Strathearn Restaurant at Gleneagles this summer I hope to gain further knowledge and experience in this field.

Silver and table service taught me how important it is to make the guests feel unique by giving attention to all of them individually. These service styles are a big factor in making fine dining a special experience.
